If you are a gamer then you know what parts do you need to build a gaming PC. There are a lot of components that go into building one of these machines. In this article I will try to go over a few of them so you can have a better understanding.
The first thing you need to decide on is the motherboard. There are several to choose from but in my experience having a good motherboard to build on depends on what game you are planning on playing. The best motherboard designs out there will allow your video card to work with it. Most of the modern motherboards will support all sorts of video cards including Crossfire and Eyefinity. You can find these cards available for about $150.
You need to remember when choosing a video card that some cards will need to be placed into the motherboard slots while others will not. The slot placements will depend on the card design. A big benefit of having a video card is that you will increase the amount of space available to install an optical drive. Most of the newer drives are very compact and take up little space, but if you want to be able to fit two or more in a short space a good motherboard can handle them.
Another important consideration when buying a motherboard is how many slots it has. Having enough slots to house your optical drives, video card and whatever else you might be adding is important. It is recommended that you have at least eight slots because sometimes you can over clutter your motherboard causing it to become unstable. Always make sure you leave at least sixteen slots free.
You also need to think about memory. This is going to affect your ability to build your computer. You can either go with a traditional size or get a tiny little memory card to put into the computer. There are pros and cons to both of these options. I personally like having a tiny little memory card as I never use all of it and I don’t have to replace it often.
Once you have the motherboard in place, you need to start thinking about the video card. If your budget doesn’t allow for an integrated card then you will have to look towards another type of option. One of the biggest contenders in the video card market today is the onboard video card. These cards plug right into the motherboard and will give your computer high definition graphics. They can add some realism to your gaming experience.
Last but not least you need to look at the cooling system. If your PC will be placed inside of a case then you will have to purchase a water cooling system. Some systems are extremely quiet while others have huge fans that will blow cool air across your CPU and graphics card. This part is very important if you want to build a powerful PC. Without the right cooling you could spend more time than you like waiting for a system to cool down.
Hopefully this short article has given you a good starting point when you are looking to build a gaming PC.
